Bouchard v. Ryland Group

Case No. 48-2005-CA-1930-35 (In the Circuit Court for Orange County, Florida)

Preliminary Settlement Reached

The Ryland Group, Inc. and the law firms of Jackson & McGee, William Dixon Robertson, III, and Fisher, Rushmer, Werrenrath, Dickson, Talley & Dunlap announced that they have reached a preliminary agreement to settle a class action arbitration and lawsuit. The settlement would resolve water damage claims brought by a group of Florida homeowners in early 2005. If the settlement is approved, Ryland will pay $3.25 million to resolve the lawsuit and arbitration. Of that amount, $1.85 million will go into a fund to pay the documented claims of class members and $1.4 million will go toward plaintiffs attorneys' fees and costs.

On this website, you can view and print the settlement agreement, its exhibits, the various notices and orders related to the agreement, and claim forms for class members whose homes were damaged. Point to Documents for a complete list of, and links to, these papers.
