In 2008, Ryland Group, Inc., settled water damage claims brought by a group of Florida homeowners in early 2005. Ryland paid$3.25 million to resolve the lawsuit and arbitration. Of that amount, $1.85 million went into a fund to pay the documented claims of class members and $1.4 million paid the plaintiff class' attorneys' fees and costs. The claim period is now closed and all approved claims have been paid.
